Q: How far should the thermometer be inserted into meat?
A: Insert the thermometer into the thickest portion of the meat. The core of the meat will give you the lowest internal temperature for an accurate reading when cooking. Make sure the tip of the thermometer is not touching the bone or fat of the meat.
Q: What is the diameter of the probe?

Q: Does it have a “hold” mode so temps can be read after withdrawing probe?
A: Yes, it does. You can just press “HOLD” button once to lock the reading and press it again to unlock.

Q: If the probe is damaged in someway, can it be replaceable?
A: The probe of the device cannot be replaced. If it is damaged, please contact us for help. Please don’t let the probe touch the flame, grate and other extra high-temperature objects to avoid damage.

I bought this one to replace a waterproof thermometer that wasn’t really waterproof. But you can trust this one. You can wash it directly under the tap or soak it in water. Readings are still accurate in comparison testing and the display is very visible. You won’t find a better thermometer for this price.

I’ve had several thermometers in the past, but this one has worked great. The display is bright and easy to read. The magnet is strong so I can easily toss it against my grill after use. We really needed this thermometer. It is so easy to use and easy to read for those of us needing reading glasses. You can switch from F to C, depending on your preference. If you accidentally drop in sink water, no worries. It is water-resistant, but it should be hand washed. It is also magnetic, so if you want to store it on the fridge or somewhere other than a drawer, you can.
